P.T.’s Revenge released two records, records that spawned the beginnings of Whoa! Records, titled “Odd Man Out” and “…And What About the Rest of Us?” In 2001 the band embarked on recording a new album, with Kevin, Jeff and Matt joining up with PRD and John Kay. Unfortunately, as sometimes these things go, the band split up before the record was able to be released and this fantastic record never got its due. Whoa! Records soon went on a very long hiatus, and members of the band moved on to other projects and en-devours.
Today this record is finally available world-wide on iTunes, Amazon and a number of other digital music retailers. The album is also available at the Whoa! Records Store on Bandcamp, where you will undoubtedly get it for the best price at $5 for the entire record, along with two bonus tracks you cannot get anywhere else – a cover of Nirvana’s “Drain You” and a live recording of “Rockstar,” one of the last songs the band wrote.
There was original artwork drafted back when the record was originally recorded by our friend, and fantastic artist, Justin Bilicki, but the artwork was damaged over time and not salvageable. We asked Justin about it and he came through with an all new and more awesome than ever cover for the album that you see here.
I’m proud to have been a small part in the production of this great record. The record sounds as fresh as any record out today, and fans of Punk Rock, Pop-Punk and Hardcore will all get something from this record.
P.T.’s Revenge’s second record “…And What About the Rest of Us?” is already available at the Whoa! Records Store, and their first record, “Odd Man Out,” will be available on Bandcamp next week on Tues 9/27/2011 – I fondly remember making manual cassette tape copies of this on my parent’s dual tape deck and printing out inserts and labels using their old-school, super-slow inkjet printer. Also available next week will be the unreleased 10/90 single “Waiting for You,” which includes two other unreleased tracks recorded at Ringside Studios.
All proceeds through 12/30 will go to Gleaners Community Food Bank, a great organization helping the hungry in Southeast Michigan. On 12/30 we will be hosting the Whoa! Records reunion show, which P.T.’s Revenge will be reuniting for to headline along with J. Lee, Wrist-Rocket, Ten Ninety and Blindshot (who’s unreleased last record we will also hopefully be releasing soon). It’s going to be an amazing night, held all in support of Gleaners, and for all of us now 30-year-old+ boys to re-live some of the great music we all created in our younger years.
